Meanwhile my data is up to date
4️⃣2️⃣8️⃣ borders now investigated
(of 523 in my database - I have less than 100 to do still!)
It's needed 1220 trains, and 189368 rail-km so far
And 259 bike stages, and 6146 bike-km
While I have a few more #CrossBorderRail odds and ends in the next few weeks, the next new borders will be in September (I think)
Ah
@andrew_shadura has alerted me to a right old #CrossBorderRail cock up at Bratislava
Despite Austrian EMUs running to Petržalka station in Bratislava for *years*, the Slovaks have now banned the trains due to some missing paperwork 🤦♂️
@vorortanleiter any idea how serious this is?

And finally #CrossBorderRail
Lengeler 🇧🇪 – Wilwerdingen 🇱🇺
I couldn't get into the tunnel here, because bats nesting have closed it!
Neidingen 🇧🇪 – Hemmeres 🇩🇪 – Auel 🇧🇪
#CrossBorderRail
This is a bit of a complex one
From 1918 until 1956 this was like the rest of the Vennbahn - the line was Belgian, and it made an enclave on one side. But then a 1956 territory re-allocation made even the track bed here German, hence why it counts as a border and a transit now (photos on the page show more)
And today's #CrossBorderRail rail borders (after the tramways earlier)
All are the southern end of the Vennbahn
Ihren 🇩🇪 – Steinebrück 🇧🇪
Now I’m thinking “does this mean I’ll not get SMS about anything useful?”
And then I thought “no, SNCF won’t send me anything useful”
TGV 2875

Also given SNCF is removing Ville from station names, one presumes this will stop at Thion and Metz in future 😂
